Bleaching Denim

Bambi and Manson Inspired

So yesterday I had a total lazy day as I didn't have to go to work ! But this is also a bad thing because it means I obviously didn't get paid so I couldn't order my Bambi and Manson Shorts! so I had an idea... I will attempt to make my own...

My incredibly boring slightly high waisted shorts from  TESCO that are a million years old and a tad
to big will soon be my own unique studded frayed bleach beauty's!!!

I began by cutting them into even shorter short shorts! ( try saying that 3x really fast ) then I attempted to distress them witch I began to doubt that it was working as it is quite thick denim and it just wasn't fraying like I thought they would, but I stuck through it and carried on until I did all the bottoms and made two holes on either side one larger than the other, I was Farley happy.

Now it was time for the bleach! I put my WET shorts in a washing up bowel and squirted bleach all across the top 1/3 just to where the pocket ended and rubbed it in, I then turned them over and did the same this spread the bleach about abit and made them look not so neat witch wasn't a biggie for me but if you wanted them to be a neatish line from bleach to denim be more careful.
I then left them for an hour in the small bath room, I started off in the kitchen but it stank like chlorine and I was scared it would harm my doggie ( I love my dog ), so I decided to go with the room no one really uses; that would be best. After an hour passed I rinsed them extremly thoroughly with cold water, then filled the washing up bowl with hot water and some bubble bath and left them to soak for the rest of the day changing the water so it stayed hot this prevents bleach coming out in the washing machine.

And they look even better today, I finally convinced mum to wash and tumble dry them for me so I could try them on and I love them! I just can't wait for the stud's I have ordered from Amazon to come; they should be arriving Thursday.

Here is a few snaps of the finished result!
After being washed and tumble dried the fray detail has come out exactly as I had hoped it would, I am so chuffed with my self for doing these and can not wait to begin studding them.
I love the almost reverse ombre effect

my head isn't on backwards I'm just camera shy so I turned, hehe.

I hope you have enjoyed this really long post! and If you ever need tips and tricks on bleaching please feel free to ask, this is such a big hobby of mine!
